Domestic Violence Suspect Arrested
July 29, 2026 – Ventura County Sheriff's Office officials report that on July 25, 2026, patrol
deputies from the Camarillo Police Station responded to the 400 block of Daily Drive regarding a domestic battery that had just occurred. The suspect was quickly identified as (S) Gabriel Beserra, a previously convicted felon with an active warrant for a prior domestic violence incident and a history of fleeing from law enforcement and resisting arrest.
Detectives from the Camarillo Investigation Bureau, Special Enforcement Unit, and Directed Enforcement Unit assisted with the investigation. At approximately 12:20 A.M. (1220 hours), Beserra was located in the 100 block of E. Calle La Sombra. As deputies attempted to take him into custody, Beserra fled on foot into a neighboring residential area. Following a brief foot pursuit, Beserra was apprehended and taken into custody without further incident.
Beserra was booked at the Pre-Trial Detention Facility on charges of 273.5 PC – Spousal Battery Causing injury, 148 PC – Resisting Arrest, 602 PC – Trespassing, and the active warrant with bail set at $200,000.
