August 10, 2026 – Riverside County Sheriff’s Office officials report that in April 2026, a school resource deputy assigned to the Southwest Sheriff’s Station received information regarding a subject who was using social media platforms to sell marijuana vape pens to juveniles in the Temecula area. The Southwest Station’s Special Enforcement Team assumed the investigation. During the investigation, deputies obtained a vehicle description for the suspect, who was later identified as David Hemosillo, a 20-year-old resident of Moreno Valley.

On August 6, 2026, deputies located the suspect’s vehicle in the city of Moreno Valley. A vehicle stop was conducted in the area of Perris Boulevard and Iris Avenue, where Hemosillo was taken into custody without incident. Deputies served a search warrant at Hemosillo's residence located in the 15000 block of Perris Boulevard, Moreno Valley.

During the investigation, deputies learned of a second location connected with Hemosillo. An additional search warrant was served in the 30000 block of Milky Way, Temecula. During the service of the warrants, deputies located a stolen firearm, cocaine packaged for sale, and marijuana products.

Hemosillo was booked into the Cois Byrd Detention Center for cocaine sales, selling marijuana to minors, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, and possession of a stolen firearm. His bail was set at $50,000.
