August 12, 2026 – San Diego Police Department officials report that over a kilogram of cocaine. More than 16 firearms. Illegal kits to build firearms. High-capacity magazines. Hundreds of prescription pills. More than $40,000 in cash.

Detectives followed the evidence. The suspects left plenty of it behind.

These are just some of the results of an 11-month investigation led by SDPD Mid-City Division detectives into drug trafficking and weapons violations across City Heights, Downtown San Diego, and Pacific Beach.

Detectives uncovered a network operating from multiple homes and vehicles, using social media to sell narcotics to college students while manufacturing and distributing illegal firearms.

In June 2026, detectives served 15 search warrants across San Diego County, targeting homes, vehicles, and Instagram accounts tied to the operation. The coordinated enforcement resulted in seven felony arrests.

Detectives seized more than two pounds of cocaine, eight gallon-sized bags of marijuana, five gallon-sized bags of psilocybin mushrooms, 630 Xanax pills, Percocet pills, digital scales, and more than $40,000 in cash. They also recovered more than 16 firearms, including illegally modified rifles, firearm build kits, loaded high-capacity magazines, a substantial amount of rifle and handgun ammunition, five ballistic vests, and a ballistic helmet.

This investigation was a collaborative effort between SDPD, the San Diego County District Attorney’s Office – Narcotics Division and Narcotics Task Force Team 8.
