Major Narcotics Seizure in Yuba-Sutter Area
August 22, 2026 – Sutter County Sheriff's Office officials report that on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, agents with the Special Investigations Unit (SIU), with assistance from Yuba City Police Department personnel, served search warrants in the 100 block of Main Street in Yuba City and the 1100 block of F Street in Marysville.
The investigation focused on the trafficking and sales of narcotics throughout the Yuba-Sutter area. During the searches, agents seized:
- 688.79 grams of methamphetamine
- 1,587 fentanyl pills
- 44.3 grams of cocaine HCL
- 78.91 grams of heroin
- 31 oxycodone/hydrocodone pills
- 11.5 alprazolam bars
- 10 firearms and ammunition
- Digital scales, packaging, and containers
- $3,006 in U.S. currency
Daniel Cortez, 31, of Yuba City, was arrested and booked into the Sutter County Jail on charges including possession and transportation of controlled substances for sale, possession of a controlled substance for sale, possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, and additional narcotics-related charges.
This investigation remains part of our ongoing efforts to identify and disrupt individuals involved in the trafficking and distribution of dangerous narcotics throughout the community.
