Update: Missing Person in Potrero 

August 23, 2026 – San Diego County Sheriff's Office officials report that in July 2025, 38-year-old Ganna Kovrizhnykh (Pronounced "Kov-riz-nick"), a Ukrainian citizen, was reported missing by family members after her car and trailer were found abandoned on private property in Potrero, California. 

The San Diego County Sheriff's Office conducted an extensive investigation, exhausting all leads. Sheriff's investigators believed Kovrizhnykh likely had voluntarily crossed into Mexico.

On August 7, 2026, Sheriff's investigators were able to establish contact with Kovrizhnykh and verified her identity. She is believed to be currently staying in Sinaloa, Mexico.

The Sheriff's Office has notified the Ukrainian Embassy of Kovrizhnykh's whereabouts.
