Subject Arrested for Felony Assault
September 1, 2026 – Ventura County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on August 30, 2026, (S) Bret Endicott
was arrested for a felony assault with force likely to cause serious bodily injury.
On August 30, 2026, at about 1:57 A.M., deputies from the Fillmore Station responded to the 200 block of A Street in Fillmore reference an assault. Upon arrival, deputies located a 64-year-old male suffering from head injuries. Over the course of the investigation, deputies determined Bret Endicott, a 54-year-old Fillmore resident, assaulted the victim causing serious bodily injury. The victim was transported via ambulance to a local hospital and treated for his injuries.
Endicott fled the scene prior to law enforcement arrival and was located a short time later. Deputies discovered additional evidence in Endicott’s possession linking him to the assault.
Based on the circumstances, Endicott was arrested for violations of Penal Code § 245(a)(4) – [Assault with Force Likely to Produce Great Bodily Injury] and Penal Code § 422 – [Criminal Threats]. He was transported to the Ventura County Pre-Trial Detention Facility where he was booked pending court proceedings.
Detectives are actively investigating this felonious assault and are asking for the public’s assistance for any information regarding the incident.
