September 2, 2026 – Sutter County Sheriff's Office officials report that on August 31, 2026, the Special Investigations Unit (SIU) executed a search warrant related to the trafficking of methamphetamine at Queen Penny Tire, located at 500 Colusa Avenue.

During the search, SIU agents located and seized approximately 46.23 grams net weight of methamphetamine, 0.28 grams net weight of cocaine, digital scales, packaging materials, a Ruger 10/22 firearm, three handgun magazines, and ammunition.

Ranjit Powar, 49, of Yuba City, was taken into custody and booked into the Sutter County Jail for being a Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Prohibited Person in Possession of Ammunition, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Methamphetamine for Sale, Possession of a Hard Drug with Prior Controlled Substance Convictions, Violation of Post Release Community Supervision.

The Special Investigations Unit (SIU) continues to investigate illegal narcotics activity throughout Sutter County and Yuba City.
