September 4, 2026 – Sutter County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on August 23, 2026, Sutter County Sheriff's Deputies conducted a traffic enforcement stop on a vehicle in the area of North Walton Avenue and Bridge Street in Yuba City for numerous vehicle code violations.

Deputies contacted the driver, who was identified as 21-year-old Navjot Singh of Yuba City.

Due to suspicious circumstances, deputies conducted a search of the vehicle and located a loaded 1911-style handgun, numerous bags containing powdered opium, and several large bags containing dried opium bulbs. Deputies also located blending devices believed to be used to process the dried opium into a powdered form, along with a digital scale and packaging materials.

Singh was taken into custody and booked into the Sutter County Jail on numerous weapons, narcotics and sales related charges.
