SIU Arrests Wanted Felon Following Multiple Pursuits

October 23, 2026 – Sutter County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on October 21, 2026, the Special Investigations Unit (SIU), with assistance from the Sutter County Sheriff's Office and Yuba City Police Department, arrested 31-year-old Allen Houck of Marysville following a coordinated operation in Yuba City.

Houck was wanted in connection with multiple investigations involving felony evading, burglary, stolen firearms, and other offenses throughout Yuba City and Sutter County. He was also wanted for violating Post-Release Community Supervision (PRCS) and had an outstanding felony arrest warrant.

Since July 2026, Houck had been identified as a suspect in several criminal investigations. On July 27, Yuba City Police officers pursued a vehicle believed to be driven by Houck. The driver abandoned the vehicle near the Yuba City Boat Docks before fleeing into the river bottoms on an all-terrain vehicle. A stolen firearm was subsequently recovered from the abandoned vehicle.

On October 3, Houck was identified as the suspect in a Yuba City burglary involving the theft of a gun safe containing multiple firearms.

Houck was also identified in connection with multiple vehicle pursuits involving the Yuba City Police Department and Sutter County Sheriff's Office on October 11 and October 17.

During the October 17 pursuit, Houck reached speeds exceeding 100 miles per hour before crashing his vehicle near the Nicolaus Bridge. The vehicle caught fire, and Houck fled on foot into a nearby orchard. An extensive search involving sheriff's deputies, California Highway Patrol personnel, air support, and K-9 teams from the Sheriff's Office and California Department of Fish and Wildlife was conducted, but Houck was not located.

On October 21, investigators located Houck at Mike's Mini Mart on Franklin Road and South Walton Road. During the attempted arrest, Houck rammed an unmarked law enforcement vehicle multiple times before crashing into the building, disabling his vehicle. He resisted arrest but was ultimately taken into custody. No civilians or law enforcement personnel were injured.

During his arrest, investigators located approximately 28 grams of methamphetamine in his possession.

Following medical clearance, Houck was booked into the Sutter County Jail on numerous charges, including assault with a deadly weapon on a peace officer, felony evading, burglary, firearms-related offenses, grand theft, controlled substance offenses, resisting arrest, and PRCS violation.

This arrest highlights the importance of coordinated investigations and the continued commitment of the Special Investigations Unit and its law enforcement partners to addressing serious criminal activity and protecting public safety.
