Fatal solo rollover vehicle collision in Del Mar is under investigation.

October 25, 2026 – San Diego County Sheriff's Office officials report that on Friday, October 23rd, at approximately 9:41 p.m. Deputies with the North Coastal Sheriff's Station responded to a report of a solo vehicle rollover collision near the 2900 block of Camino Del Mar in the City of Del Mar.

Preliminary information indicates that an adult female was driving a 2008 BMW 328i southbound on Camino Del Mar. The driver allegedly passed another vehicle on the right, lost control and ended up in the front yard of a residence.  The driver was transported to the hospital with serious injuries.  An adult male passenger was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.  Another adult male passenger succumbed to his injuries on scene. The cause of the collision is still under investigation.  The North Coastal Traffic Division is handling the investigation.  Drugs or alcohol were believed to be a factor in the collision.
