Kody Townsend, a 100s Block Crip, is charged with shooting and killing reformed rival gang member Reginald Foreman, a Rollin' 111s Crip

November 7, 2026 – LOS ANGELES, CA – Two men have been charged in connection with the murder of a rival gang member in a gang-motivated murder in August in South Los Angeles. Kody Townsend, a Rollin' 100s Neighborhood Crip, is charged with using an AR-style assault rifle to shoot and kill reformed rival gang member Reginald Foreman, a Rollin' 111s Crip.

“Gang violence doesn’t just claim lives; it robs entire communities of their sense of security and safety,” Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan J. Hochman said. “Mr. Foreman worked for 2nd Call, a restorative justice and gang prevention program, and was carrying out his duties in the community when the defendant allegedly shot and killed him. This kind of violence has no place in our communities and will not be tolerated. Our office’s Gang Homicide Division will hold these individuals accountable for the devastation they've caused."

In case 26CJCF07162, Kody Townsend (19) is charged with one count of murder, one felony count of conspiracy to commit a crime, and one count of possession of a firearm by a felon. Jeremiah James Abdelhameed (25) is charged with one felony count of accessory after the fact.

It is further alleged that Townsend killed the 51-year-old victim by means of lying in wait. It also is alleged that Townsend intentionally killed the victim while Townsend was an active participant in a criminal street gang and the murder was carried out to further the activities of the criminal street gang.

An arrest warrant has been issued for Townsend. His arraignment will be scheduled at a later date. Abdelhameed is in custody and his arraignment is scheduled for today in Department 30 of the Foltz Criminal Justice Center.

On August 6, at approximately 3:13 p.m., the victim was working with two other 2nd Call employees when Kody Townsend allegedly walked up to the group and shot and killed him. Abdelhameed is accused of meeting with Townsend after the killing and helping him to avoid capture.

If convicted as charged, Townsend faces life in prison and Abdelhameed faces seven years in prison.

Deputy District Attorney Henry Truong of the Gang Homicide Division is prosecuting the case, and the Los Angeles Police Department Robbery-Homicide Division is investigating.

The charges in this case are allegations. The defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
