SST LTROctober 4, 2018 - I strongly urge you to vote for Judy Eppler for District 3 School Board Member on November’s ballot.

Judy has been a consistent and knowledgeable addition to the MCUSD School Board for the past 7 years.  In addition to her excellent service on the board, Judy carries more than 40+ years of experience supporting Mariposa County public schools. Judy has been a high school teacher, counselor, Middle School Principal, Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum, and is a parent of a child who attended MCUSD schools. She is a supporter of public education (both in-seat and home school).

Judy has a clear investment in, and knowledge of, students, public educators, and curriculum within the district.

School board members carry a variety of diverse responsibilities. In addition to knowledge of curriculum, which Judy clearly has, board members must also be able to analyze budgets, understand and meet the unique needs of each school site and staff member in order to best serve students, have a clear knowledge of state requirements, and have the ability to remain current on the frequent changes coming from the California Department of Education. Judy excels in all of the above.

As a regular attendee of MCUSD School Board Meetings for the past 4 years, I have witnessed Judy being a prepared, focused board member who asks insightful questions with thorough and concise follow up. Asking good and pointed questions is one of the most important responsibilities of a board member. Additionally, Judy continues to ask questions until answers are clarified in a manner that enable better guidance to staff and provide vision for Mariposa County public schools.

Judy understands the history of MCUSD because she has been an active participant in it for decades. This enables her to know what has worked for our unique community and what has not. Her experience is invaluable.

Judy Eppler’s knowledge, experience, and enthusiasm make her the most qualified candidate for the school board. Judy works hard for our students and our school employees. I urge you to support her re-election.
