October 8, 2017 - The Department of Health Care Services has reached the statutory requirements of 7,500 pre-paid applications needed to launch the Breast Cancer Awareness Special License Plate program and issuance will begin in early 2018. 

Fees collected for the Breast Cancer Awareness license plates support cancer prevention through education, early detection, diagnosis and treatment, and integrated preventive services.

The Breast Cancer Awareness license plates will not be available to order online until after the program is fully implemented, however, you may pre-order a license plate by submitting a Special Interest License Plate Application (REG 17).

To pre-order a Breast Cancer Awareness license plate complete the REG 17 and write “Breast Cancer Awareness” in SECTION 1 – PLATE SELECTION.

  • The license plates will be available in either sequential or personalized configurations. For personalized automobile, commercial, and trailer license plates, configurations may have two to six characters and motorcycles may have two to five characters. The character limitations include spacing.
