The community will have a chance to meet candidates and ask questions on Dec. 7 at the Mariposa Government Center. The three candidates are Regina Bateson, Roza Calderon and Jessica Morse. The event will be held in the Board of Supervisors Room.

From 6-8pm the candidates will be asked to present a brief presentation about themselves and then they will answer questions presented by the audience. The questions will be addressed to each candidate.

The 4th Congressional District encompasses the Sierra Nevada from Truckee south to the Sequoia National Forest. It consists of Alpine, Amador, Calaveras, El Dorado, Mariposa, and Tuolumne counties — plus portions of Fresno, Madera, Nevada, and Placer counties. Currently it is represented by Tom McClintock, but he does not live in the district and people are looking for a different representative.

All three candidates were inspired to run for public office last January and have been visiting the area since that time. People planning to attend are encouraged to visit the website for each woman to learn more about them.

This event is sponsored by the Mariposa Democratic Club as a public service to the community.
