April 9, 2018 - Caltrans District 10 reports heavy rainfall returned to the area of State Route 132 near Coulterville in Mariposa County on Friday and Saturday.
The washed out portion of the road near Piney Creek and Granite Springs roads, currently under construction for a total foundation repair and rebuild, can be seen below during last weekend's inclement weather.
The access road built between either side of the closure did sustain some damage, but the excavated dirt and soil was properly covered and saved thanks to precautions taken by Caltrans crews and construction partners.
The rebuild of the access road will be pivotal to moving the rebuilding project along, as it allows a path for equipment and materials to be transported to either side of the wash out.
Please take alternate routes and avoid this area for the sake of safety throughout the project.
