August 23, 2018 - Sierra Foothill Charter School is holding back to school night on Wednesday, August 29, 2018. All are welcome to come to the Ice Cream Social in the multipurpose room at 5:15 P.M. that evening and to stay to check out the classrooms and campus and hear about what teachers have planned for the school year.

SFCS held its first day of school on Wednesday, August 22. Staff was happy to welcome students back to campus and friends were happy to see each other after summer break.

Student Clyde Bell presented his teacher, Wendy Baumann, with a bouquet of flowers on the first morning.
Principal/Superintendent Mindy Bolar spoke to students during morning line up. Every morning at SFCS, students line up by classroom to hear announcements and say the Pledge of Allegiance.
On the first morning, after announcements, Principal/Superintendent Mindy Bolar  invited students and their family members who came to watch to wave goodbye to each other before students left to start their day in their classrooms.
Transitional Kindergarten/Kindergarten teacher Chelsea Kamins asked her students, "Who is a little nervous?" A lot of them raised their hands. They were a lot less nervous by the end of the day.
Vera Smerber, Kaia Ramirez, and Kensley Silva give each other a big hug in greeting before the school day began.

Sierra Foothill Charter School is a free, non-profit, TK-8 public school. For the 2018-2019 school year, space is currently available in grades TK, 5, 8, and the Home School program.
