August 27, 2018 - New Life Thrift Store, a ministry of Yosemite New Life Church of the Nazarene in Oakhurst, is once again accepting good quality used furniture donations, according to Dale Wohlgemuth, the church’s pastor.
“We appreciate the community’s donations,” said Wohlgemuth, adding that “furniture has always been a welcome draw for shoppers in the past.”
“The store has also undergone some cosmetic changes which make it easier for people to navigate inside the shop,” he added.
Besides furniture, the thrift shop continues to accept clean apparel for men, women and children, appliances and electronics in working condition, household and kitchen items, tools, arts and crafts supplies, books, home décor, office supplies, garden tools and more.
Some items the shop does not accept include mattresses, pillows, appliances and electronics that don’t work and large televisions. It is recommended that these items be taken to a transfer station or a business that recycles them.
It is requested that donations be dropped off only during hours the thrift shop is open. Store hours are Monday through Thursday and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The store is closed on Friday and Sunday.
Proceeds from the thrift store, which opened in 2012, benefit the local church. New Life Thrift Shop is located behind the church at 40390 Junction Drive, Oakhurst.
