August 31, 2018 – Sierra Tel has announced the Keynote Speaker for the 2018 Patriot Day remembrance event. Rocky Deal, District Director for U.S. Representative Tom McClintock, spent over 28 years in the U.S. Navy finishing his career as Chief of Staff to the Commander of Naval Air Forces Pacific.  He previously served as the Commanding Officer of America’s Flagship, the supercarrier USS Constellation.  He also served as Commanding Officer of the USS Kalamazoo and the Operation Officer of the USS Abraham Lincoln.  Deal led the legendary “Jolly Rogers” Fighter Squadron, the Eighty-Four, that earned the honor of being named the best fighter squadron in the Atlantic Fleet.

Sierra Tel would like to invite the public to its annual Patriot Day event on Tuesday, September 11, 2018, at the Mountain Christian Center Auditorium – 40299 Hwy. 49 in Oakhurst.

The event, which begins at 9:00 A.M., is intended to recognize and show appreciation to all Veterans, Active Duty Military and Emergency Services Personnel for their dedication to our country and communities, as well as to honor the memory of those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001. Included in the event will be a special flag-raising ceremony and pledge of allegiance, patriotic music performances, and Taps. Veterans, Active Duty Military and Emergency Services Personnel will be presented with recognition pins.
