MLJC November 6, 2018 - The Mother Lode Jewish Community will be conducting a Kabbalat Shabbat Service on evening of Friday, November 16th, in Columbia. It will begin at 5:30 p.m. with a 'meat/parve' potluck dinner followed by a lay led service.

Then on Friday, December 7th, our annual Chanukkah Celebration will take place in Murphys beginning at 5:00 p.m.  This annual gathering, taking place this year on the 6th night of the eight-day festival, is a casual, fun evening for families and adults of all ages.  You are welcome to bring a menorah if you would like to light your own candles.

The activity calendar on the MLJC website (MotherLodeJewishCommunity.org) includes an up-to-date list of scheduled gatherings, which take place primarily in the Murphys/Copperopolis and Jamestown/Sonora/Columbia areas.  These gatherings are open, most at no charge, to non-members who wish to participate in the Jewish Community.

The MLJC’s mission is to provide opportunities and events that nurture a vibrant and enduring Jewish identity, culture and community in the Mother Lode, drawing members from Amador, Calaveras, Tuolumne and Mariposa counties.  New members and guests are always welcome.  Please call (209) 533-1650 between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. to learn more.
