November 21, 2018 - The National Weather Service Hanford office reports a A Winter Storm Warning is in effect from 4:00 P.M. Wednesday to 8:00 A.M. Thursday.

A winter-like storm will bring significant amounts of snow to the southern Sierra Nevada Wednesday afternoon through Thursday morning.

Travel could be very difficult to impossible.

Holiday travelers in the mountains should be prepared for long delays and possible road closures at or above 7000 ft elevation.

If traveling consider alternate plans, remember to carry tire chains, extra food, water and clothing.

Campers and hikers should be prepared for hazardous winter-like conditions.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow means severe winter weather
conditions are expected or occurring.  Significant amounts of
snow are forecast that will make travel dangerous. Only travel in
an emergency. If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food,
and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.
