December 2, 2018 - Washington - Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) last Thursday released the following statement on the latest guilty plea from Michael Cohen, President Trump’s former Dianne Feinsteinpersonal lawyer:

“Michael Cohen today pleaded guilty to lying to Congress about Donald Trump’s ties to Russia, admitting that he continued to work on a possible Trump Tower Moscow deal during the presidential campaign and updated then-candidate Trump and his family about those efforts.

“Cohen’s sworn admission shows that the Trump family did have business dealings in Russia despite President Trump’s repeated statements to the contrary. It raises serious questions about the president’s relationship with Russia and whether he and his family have been honest with the American people.

“I sent several document and testimony requests to Michael Cohen and others. We have received some of the documents referenced in today’s criminal information and were able to obtain testimony from Felix Sater, another individual involved in the Trump family’s ties to Russia. However, lacking meaningful support from committee Republicans, Michael Cohen has not appeared before the committee to answer our questions.

“Today’s guilty plea clearly shows that we still don’t know the full story and that Special Counsel Mueller must be allowed to complete his investigation without interference or delay.”
