January 17, 2019 - Sierra Foothill Charter School (SFCS), a free, non-profit, TK-8 public school located at 4952 School House Road in Catheys Valley, is accepting New Student Intent to Enroll forms and Continuing Student Re-enrollment forms as of Tuesday, January 22 as part of its Open Enrollment period for the 2019-2020 school year.

Open Enrollment continues through Wednesday, April 10 at 4:00 P.M.

As a public school, Sierra Foothill Charter School (SFCS) is nonsectarian, tuition-free, and does not test or assess students in any way prior to admission, just as all other public schools in California.
SFCS enrollment Eighth grader Gabriel Walters (pictured) reads a book with his younger first and second grade buddies, Oliviah Collins-English and Milo Harrison. Throughout the school year, older students at SFCS team up with younger students to read and work on projects together. This helps foster a strong sense of school community and friendship.

Those interested in having their children attend SFCS in 2019-2020 are encouraged to submit Intent to Enroll forms by April 10. Forms can be picked up at the school or downloaded from the SFCS website: sierrafoothillcharterschool.org.  To have the form mailed, emailed, or faxed, call the school office at (209) 742-6222.

Note that the waiting list does not carry over from year to year. If you have a child on the waiting list for this 2018-2019 school year and would like your child to attend in 2019-2020, you will need to re-submit a New Student Intent to Enroll form by the April 10 deadline.

If the number of students wishing to attend SFCS exceeds its capacity, SFCS will hold a random public drawing (lottery) on April 12 at 4:00 P.M. on campus.

If a lottery becomes necessary, existing students are guaranteed enrollment and will be exempt as long as Continuing Student Re-enrollment forms are submitted during the open enrollment period. Siblings of enrolled students are also exempt from the lottery and will be offered admission if space is available, taken in the order that enrollment forms are received.

If SFCS holds a lottery, students will be notified of admission or position on the waiting list by mail following the lottery. Families may also contact the office to check on placement status. Registration packets will be made available soon after.

If a lottery is not necessary, students will continue to be admitted after April 10 in the order that enrollment forms are received until such time as classrooms become full. Once classrooms are full, interested parties will be placed on a waiting list, and will be contacted if space becomes available.

All who are interested in attending SFCS in 2019-2020 but would like more information are encouraged to call the school office at (209) 742-6222 to arrange a visit. More information can also be found at SFCS’s website, SierraFoothillCharterSchool.org.
