Genealogy 101:  We are going back to the basics. Jennifer McDonald, past President of the Genealogical Society of Stanislaus County will be speaking on key Beginning Genealogy topics such as pedigree charts, family group sheets, and lots of tips and tricks for accurate Genealogical research and assistance seeking.

MCGS meetings: on the 3rd or 4th Saturday each month at the Merced County Library, Gracey Room, 2100 O Street in Merced CA. 95340, at 1:00 P.M. MCGS has been active from 1983, and each month, we have between 20-40 members and guests attending.  MCGS has very knowledgeable and professional guest speakers, meetings are free to the public, plus we love having guests!

Sample of 2019 Programs: Saturday, February 23 - Comparing Genealogy Website Giants: Ancestry, FamilySearch, Findmypast, and My Heritage.  On Saturday, March 16 - Irish Research.  Saturday, April 20 - History of Alta California up to 1850, and looking at important Mission records.
