February 4, 2019 - The Central Sierra Historical Society and Museum invites members of Mariposa and the surrounding areas to a free workshop, “Fire in the Sierra” to be held on Saturday, February 23 from 10:00 A.M. - 2:00 P.M. at the Board of Supervisors, 5100 Bullion St., Mariposa.

The workshop will provide a historic perspective and comprehensive overview of the current challenges and opportunities surrounding the management of forest lands and fire’s influence in the Sierra Nevada.  The workshop is funded by a grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Science.
