April 17, 2019 - Mariposa County Unified School District Board calls for Special Board Meeting on Thursday to address the DUI arrest of School Superintendent Robin Hopper.
Per Channel 26 Fresno:
Hopper released this statement today:
"It is with extreme remorse and self-reproach that I inform you of a serious lapse in my judgment leading to my arrest for driving under the influence of alcohol this past weekend. I deeply regret my actions. Those who know me well understand this behavior is completely out of my character. Nonetheless, I take full ownership of this grievous incident and I am profoundly sorry and want to apologize to you all for how my conduct may reflect upon the district. Holding a public office as superintendent, I am held to the highest level of accountability, as it should be. I have let you down. I have let myself and my family down. I am extremely thankful that no one was injured as a result of my DUI."
Hopper gave notice in December that she would be stepping down effective June 30th, but Forsythe says a special board meeting and closed-door session will be held Thursday evening to determine the next step for the district.
