5 25 19 Oakhurst Library Writing Workshop

May 9, 2019 - “So, You Want to Write a Book?” is the title of a free seminar being offered from 10:30 A.M. to 12:00 noon at the Oakhurst Branch Library on Saturday, May 25, 2019. The workshop is being presented by local author Jennifer Moss in the library’s Community Room, 49044 Civic Circle Dr., Oakhurst.

At the seminar Moss said people will learn the “secrets that all professional writers know – what must be in EVERY story” you write.

The free seminar is an introduction to a seven-week fiction writing workshop that Moss and another local author, Lauren Ball, will be conducting for a cost at the library beginning June 25 through August 13, 2019.

Besides learning everything you need to know to create a book from start to finish, Moss said seminar participants will also learn about storytelling, the craft of writing itself and formatting your manuscript. She will also discuss fiction versus non-fiction writing, pitching your book to agents and publishers, using a publisher versus self-publishing and marketing your work.

Moss, who divides her time between Los Angeles and her home near Yosemite National Park, is the author of four novels and three non-fiction books.

The free seminar is sponsored by the Friends of the Oakhurst Branch Library. For more information, call (559) 683-4838 or visit oakhurstfobl.com.
