Mariposa County Election Official Keith Williams smAugust 8, 2019 - There are some big election changes in California and Mariposa County Election Official Keith Williams will explain all the changes at a meeting on Saturday, August 10 at 9:30 a.m. at Miners Roadhouse located at 5159 Hwy. 140 in Mariposa.

This will be the first time in many years the primary election will be in March and that brings many changes to Californians. There are also changes in how the ballots will be collected and processed. Finally, Williams will explain how people can change their voter preference registrations.

After his presentation Williams will take questions from the audience. With 2020 gearing up to be a big election year in America this presentation is timely and important.

Williams holds the office of Treasurer-Tax Collector, County Clerk and is in charge of all elections in the county. Williams is a long-time resident of the county and has worked in county offices since 1991. He became the Assistant Treasurer-Tax Collector-County Clerk in 2003. In  2007 he became Treasurer-Tax Collector- County Clerk.

Prior to working for the county, Williams was Vice President of Operations for a manufacturing company in Los Angeles for 10 years. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree in business from Saint Joseph's College. Williams has been married to his wife Janet for over 25 years. They reside in Bear Valley.

This meeting is open to the public and everyone is welcome. If people would like to order breakfast for themselves, they are asked to be there at 9:00 A.M. Free coffee and water will be available. This event is being sponsored by the Mariposa Democratic Club as a public service to the community.
