Aranguena as Superintendent of the Mariposa County Unified School District.Dear Mariposa Unified School District and County Office of Education Family,
It is the great pleasure of the School Board to announce that at the Board Meeting on Thursday, September 12, 2019, the Board voted unanimously to appoint Mr. Jeff Aranguena as the new Superintendent of the Mariposa County Unified School District beginning September 12, 2019 through June 30, 2022. Board President Forsythe put it very simply “Mr. Aranguena is the key to the future and the key to success for the Mariposa County Unified School District”. The Board also directed District Staff to present the Board with a contract at the next regular Board Meeting to take place on November 14, 2019.
Over the past several months, the Board has conducted several searches; the Board did not feel that it had found someone who would be a good fit for Mariposa. Concurrently the Board has been very impressed with the way Mr. Aranguena has stepped into the interim position and worked diligently with the MCUSD team to provide a smooth transition through the past 6 months.
Addressing the boardroom on September 12, 2019, Mr. Aranguena affirmed that he appreciates the opportunity to continue to both lead and be a part of the MCUSD education team in providing a quality education to the students of the Mariposa community. “I am excited to continue doing the good work and appreciate the process it took us to get here”.
