January 2015 - Sacramento – Senator Tom Berryhill (R-Twain Harte) was given top marks on the California Small Business Association (CSBA) and California Small Business Roundtable’s (CSBR) 2014 Honor Roll. In 2013 he was honored as their Small Business Senator of the Year.

The CSBA/CSBR Honor Roll bases a legislator’s ranking on his/her record of participation and interest in small business issues.  Senator Berryhill earned the rank of “Summa Cum Laude” – the highest level – this year. The criteria used:
  • Holding one or more district small business advisory councils, which includes the district’s small business agenda for state level activities;
  • Honoring a small business owner from their district at the California Small Business Day.  In 2014 year Senator Berryhill honored Fortune Associates, a Fresno area real estate firm as the Senate District’s Small Business of the Year;
  • Interaction between legislators and their staff with CSBA; carrying legislation to help small business; and
  • A solid voting record on CSBA priority legislation.
“Small businesses are the economic engine of California. I am proud to be recognized as one of the leaders in Sacramento on issues that matter to the folks running these businesses and the millions of people employed by them,” said Berryhill.
