February 18, 2020 - GREELEY HILL – CAL FIRE personnel will be conducting a vegetation management burn near Greeley Hill Road and Ponderosa Way in Cal fireGreeley Hill.

Preparation for the approximate 90-acre management burn, being planned for the fall of 2020, includes broadcast burning of mastication also known as “blacklining” as well as large pile burning. These preparations are to reduce heavy fuel loading within project boundaries. Burning will take place on permissive burn days.

This management burn is part of a large-scale project that will promote natural regeneration, enhance wildlife habitat, protect watershed values, reduce heavy fuel loading, improve community evacuation routes and will also serve as a fuel break to protect the community of Greeley Hill.
