Multi-Jurisdiction COVID-19 Case Under Investigation

April 10, 2020 - On the evening of April 9^th, Mariposa County Health and Human Services Public Health branch was notified by the Tuolumne County Public Health of a positive case of COVID-19. The individual has been identified as a non-Mariposa/Tuolumne County resident who sought care at Adventist Health Sonora this week. This individual was in the area performing an essential function in accordance with the Governor’s order. The individual has been and currently remains in isolation.

Through contact tracing it has been determined that this individual has been in Mariposa County, however has had no known contact with any Mariposa County residents. Currently through the investigation, it appears his transmission occurred outside of Mariposa and Tuolumne Counties. At this time, we know of no additional risk to Mariposa or Tuolumne County residents.

This positive case statistic will be assigned to the individual’s county of residence.
