85% Containment

Esimated Containment Date: Monday November 30th, 2020 approx. 12:00 AM

November 20, 2020 - Containment on the CreekFire was raised to 85% on Thursday evening after a helicopter flight revealed smoke only from isolated logs which continue to smolder as they burn into the wet snow.

Surrounded by snow and granite, this area, west of Lake Thomas Edison in Wilderness, will continue to be monitored

Fire spread is expected to remain minimal. Isolated areas of creeping and smoldering will continue.

Personnel and equipment are currently working across private and public lands. Coordination between private, state, tribal, and federal managers is ongoing.

Dry conditions, with temperatures at or slightly below normal, are predicted to persist through the weekend. A chance of rain and high-elevation snow will re-enter the forecast on Monday.

Thursday Evening Update: 379,895 acres and 85% containment.
