November 28, 2020 - The Mariposa County Sheriff's Department reports we have received multiple calls from residents who have been receiving calls stating their loved ones have been kidnapped or are currently being held hostage for a ransom.

This is a SCAM, please DO NOT send any money to these scammers. If you receive a phone call like this and are unsure if it is real or not please call the Sheriff's Office at 209-966-3615.
