February 22, 2021 - The Madera County Sheriff's Office (MCSO) reports on February 18, 2021, Madera County Sheriff’s Detectives arrested Mario Hurtado, 54, of Madera, for felony possession and distribution of child sexual abuse imagery.

Madera County Sheriff’s Detectives received a tip from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) through the Central California Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force Program (ICAC), regarding the possession and distribution of child sexual abuse imagery via social media, identifying Hurtado as the suspect.

MCSO Detectives served a search warrant at his residence in the 16000 block of Chapin St. in Madera County and recovered over 600 images of child sexual abuse imagery, as well as narcotics and drug paraphernalia. Mr. Hurtado was taken into custody and booked into the Madera County Department of Corrections for felony possession and distribution of child sexual abuse imagery and misdemeanor drug related charges.

This investigation remains ongoing.
