July 21, 2021 - Yosemite National Park officials report this summer, Yosemite National Park is hosting the Yosemite's Women in Fire Internship Program. Participants in this program are members of Yosemite's Crew 2, a California Conservation Corps all-women fire crew based inside the park. This program is a partnership project between the National Park Service, the California Conservation Corps (CCC), and the National Park Foundation. During a 10-week internship program, 6 women in the California Conservation Corps were selected to work side-by-side with Yosemite fire staff, learning the ins and outs of wildland fire.

This program is a special career development program that provides hands-on experience in firefighting within the National Park Service. Upon the completion of the program, participants will be on track to pursue a firefighting career within the National Park Service or they will have a variety of other doors open to them.
