Fall color expert John Pomiroo to speak at local event 

September 4, 2021 - A very special guest will speak this Wednesday, September 8 at 6:30 P.M. about photographing fall colors in California. John Pomiroo, a lifetime inductee in the California Outdoors Hall of Fame, will share his expertise on fall colors. This presentation will be via Zoom and the link is https://zoom.us/j/96708513667.

A distinguished travel writer and photographer, Pomiroo has maintained a website, Californiafallcolors.com for many years. Pomiroo considers himself a passionate advocate of California’s long, varied, and spectacular autumn. On his website, through the use of spotters, photographers can get information about the location of fall colors and the stage they are in for a particular week. He also has a Facebook page, California Fall Color.

The California Fall Color website has information about tree species, locations, stage of color, and information about the locale. Spotters are invited to submit weekly photos with a list of information about each photograph. He also includes info on the science of tree leaves changing their colors. Important to all photographers, the website has a couple articles with tips on photographing fall colors.

This program is a presentation of the Mariposa Photo Club. Each month members meet and enjoy a presentation of a guest speaker. The public is invited to hear the presentation. After the speaker the members have a photo share and can request easy critiques. Members also have access to a private Facebook page with weekly challenges.
