October 6, 2021 - Merced – On October 5, 2021, at 10:48 P.M. officers were called to the 1600 Blk. of W. 9th St. for a vehicle that collided into a home. When officers arrived, merced police departmentthe vehicle was unoccupied. The driver was quickly located a short distance from the crash and taken into custody. Mariah Rodriguez (26) admitted to driving the vehicle and fleeing the scene. Rodriguez showed signs of being under the influence of narcotics.

Merced city Fire department also responded due the vehicle igniting after the collision. No occupants of the residence were injured. Rodriguez was arrested for DUI and hit and run.
