January 1, 2022 - Merced  - Merced Police Officer Brian Laguna was traveling in the 1100 block of ‘P’ Street when he noticed a vehicle with illegal front window tent. A vehicle stop was conducted and the driver, Larry Thomas,40, was wanted for terrorist threats and brandishing a firearm.

A search of the vehicle incident to arrest revealed a loaded .22 caliber revolver inside the glove box.

Mr. Thomas who is prohibited from possesing a firearm, admitted to Officer Laguna of having the firearm.

He was transported to the Merced County Jail where he was booked for his outstanding warrants and being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm.
