January 22, 2022 - Fresno County Sheriff’s detectives assigned to the Multi-Agency Gang Enforcement Consortium (MAGEC) have arrested 39-year-old Daniel Osuna Leon of Orange Cove. He has FCSO Leon 1been booked into the Fresno County Jail on charges of assault on a police officer, evading police and grand theft.

Shortly before 2:00 A.M. on January 10th, Fowler Police responded to a report of a man stealing a catalytic converter off of a vehicle parked at an apartment complex in Fowler. As officers attempted to capture the suspect, Daniel Osuna Leon, he fled the scene. While trying to get away, Leon rammed his car into a responding Fowler Police officer’s patrol vehicle. The impact occurred as the officer was exiting his vehicle, resulting in a serious leg injury. The officer is recovering, but remains off-duty.

FCSO Leon 2Officers later identified the suspect as Daniel Osuna Leon and an alert was issued to all surrounding law enforcement agencies. MAGEC detectives developed information on the possible whereabouts of Leon. On Saturday, January 22nd, detectives contacted him in Fresno and took him into custody.

During the arrest, detectives uncovered evidence showing Leon may be involved in other criminal activity.
