February 5, 2022 - The Placer County Sheriff's Office reports on January 22nd, a Placer County Sheriff’s deputy took a theft report for an Ariens 27 ton log splitter, worth $1,500, that was stolen during the night from a residence in Meadow Vista.
On January 27th, the victim found his stolen log splitter for sale on Facebook Marketplace. Property Crime detectives conducted an investigation and found a possible suspect and address. They drove to a residence in Orangevale associated to the possible suspect and located the log splitter, but the suspect was not home at the time. The victim was happy to hear that his property was found and came to retrieve it!
Detectives have filed charges on the suspect with the District Attorney’s Office for possession of stolen property.
