February 21, 2022 - Mariposa County Unified School District announces Tuesday, February 22, 2022, will be a snow day for all school sites. As you are all very likely aware winter has returned and we are beginning to feel the impacts of an arctic weather system that is bringing unseasonably cold weather to our foothills which will continue through Wednesday morning.

Working in collaboration with our County partners, and after receiving an update from the Mariposa County Office of Emergency Services (OES), we have been notified that there is now a 70% chance that the snow elevation may drop to 1,000 feet for periods of precipitation, creating "hazardous travel due to slick, snow covered roads". Therefore, it is with student and staff safety in mind that we have cancelled classes for Tuesday and will continue to collaborate with the Mariposa OES.

We anticipate welcoming students back to their classrooms on Wednesday, February 23 and we ask that if you must travel tomorrow, you do so with extreme caution.
