Stanislaus State University Turlock, CA.
September 4, 2022 - Stanislaus State continues to provide students and families more “bang for their buck” when it comes to attaining a high-quality and affordable education.
Washington Monthly released its annual College Guide and Rankings in which it rates schools on what they do for the country, and Stan State earned spots in the Top 10 on two lists.
The University moved up two slots to earn the No. 5 position on the “Best Bang for the Buck” list in the West. ‘Best Bang for the Buck’ colleges are determined by how they help non-wealthy students obtain marketable degrees at affordable prices.
The publication also included Stan State at No. 8 on its national “Master’s University Rankings” list, which ranks four-year liberal arts colleges that focus on arts and sciences rather than professional programs based on their contribution in three broad categories: social mobility, research and promoting public service.
Since 2005, Washington Monthly has ranked colleges and universities on three broad criteria: the degree to which they recruit and graduate students of modest means (with Pell Grants as the main data point); produce scholarship and scholars that drive economic growth and human flourishing with federal research dollars serving as a central measure; and encourage students to be active citizens, with national and community service participation as key variables.
