May 30, 2023 - Mariposa Sheriff Search and Rescue officials report on a successful rescue out of the South Fork on Hites Cove hiking trail by multiple agencies. Mariposa SAR, CAL FIRE, County Fire, Mercy ambulance and CHP H40 responded to a hiker with a broken leg who was 2 miles in on the trail. The hiker was lifted out by helicopter due to the extremely narrow trail and 150-foot drop to the river below.
