(Pictured l-r): Robin Tarvin/Long, Tom Phillips, Chairman, and Supervisor, Marshal Long
On September 20, 2015, Mariposa District 3 Supervisor, Marshal Long and his wife, Robin Tarvin Long, owner of Robin's Bail Bonds, donated funds to the Mariposa County Student Loan Association. The Mariposa County Student Loan Association provides no-interest loans to Mariposa’s graduating high school students for college expenses. The loans are repaid as the students graduate or end their educational pursuits. The directors of the Student Loan Association are made up of contributing community organizations. These directors review, approve, and monitor the loans.
To become a member of the Student Loan Association your organization is requested to donate a minimum of $50 a year. This small amount allows one of your members to become a director. The Mariposa County Student Loan Association was founded on March 5, 1953.
