November 16, 2015 -  The Mariposa County Sheriff Department reports on the afternoon of Friday, November 13, 2015 the Mariposa County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to an adult female victim reporting she had been raped by Jerry Cox, 46, of Mariposa, on a ranch located on the CYA road in the Mt. Bullion area of Mariposa County.

The victim stated she was not from Mariposa County and had met Mr. Cox on an online agricultural dating site. The victim reported Jerry Cox had assaulted, forcibly raped and held her against her will at his home.

Jerry Cox was arrested and booked into the Mariposa County Adult Detention Facility during the evening hours of November 13.

His bail is currently set at $500,000 and is being held on the following charges:

261(A)(2) PC - Felony Rape by Force/Fear

236 PC - Felony False Imprisonment

207(C) PC - Felony Kidnapping

422(A) PC – Felony Criminal Threats
