January 27, 2024 - El Dorado County Sheriff's Office officials report that on Friday morning, El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office Deputies responded to a report of a sinking vehicle at Brown's Ravine on Folsom Lake. While deputies were enroute, some boaters on the lake utilized their vessel to push the vehicle closer to shore.

Deputy Rude arrived first on scene and observed an elderly male still inside the vehicle. Without hesitation, Deputy Rude quickly made his way into the water and assisted the elderly male from the vehicle and safely got him to shore where he could be treated by awaiting paramedics.

After a quick change out of a soggy uniform Deputy Rude returned to his normal School Resource Officer duties.
