March 8, 2024 - Madera County Sheriff's Office officials report that after 8 years of service to the citizens of Madera County, Madera County Sheriff’s K9 Nacho is retiring.

9-year-old Nacho has completed over 100 apprehension deployments and narcotic searches during his long career. He has been a well-loved member of our office, and a favorite furry friend out in the community.

Please join us in thanking Nacho for his service and wishing him a long and happy retirement full of treats, pets, and afternoon naps.
