July 9, 2024 – Merced County Sheriff’s Office officials reported that on Monday the Investigations Bureau, with the assistance of the Ceres Police Department, arrested an attempted homicide suspect for an incident that happened on July 2nd.
Detectives were notified that the Ceres Police Department located the suspect's vehicle and were involved in a short pursuit. The suspect, identified as Joe Barajas, was ultimately arrested. Our Investigations Bureau were on scene and are completing their investigation. Barajas will be booked into the Merced County Jail for several felony charges.
