July 21, 2024 – Mariposa County Sheriff's Office officials report on an early morning fire in Coulterville.
A heartbreaking night for our Coulterville Community. Early this morning (Sunday) a fire broke out in the trailer park destroying 6 homes/trailers. We have also been informed that the power to the rest of the facility will be out for days.
17 residents have been affected by this tragic event.
Our Sheriffs Office of Emergency Services team have been on scene, as well as Red Cross and Mariposa Health and Human Services are working with the residents and their animals to provide them with hotel rooms, food and clothing.
Sheriff Briese is also in the area supporting the community. He will be surveying the damage and speaking with residents.
