SCSO MAIT Team Investigating Fatal Overnight Traffic Collision in Waterford 

October 5, 2024 – Waterford, CA – Stanislaus County Sheriff's Department officials report that on October 4th, 2024, at stanislaus county sheriffs office logo3:03 a.m., Waterford Police Services deputies responded to the reports of a vehicle versus pedestrian traffic collision in the 12000 block of Yosemite Blvd. 

Deputies attempted life-saving measures prior to the pedestrian being transported to a local hospital. 

Unfortunately, the pedestrian succumbed to their injuries and was pronounced deceased.  

The driver of the involved vehicle remained on-scene and cooperated with the investigation. 

Due to the severity of the crash, the Sheriff’s Major Accident Investigation Team was activated and took over the investigation.  

Drugs and alcohol do not appear to be a factor in the collision.

We are unable to provide the identity of the deceased pedestrian, as next-of-kin notifications have not been made.
